Baby Kate

On August 6th, 2013 at 12:03 p.m. Catherine Victoria Popeney was welcomed to the world via emergency cesarean section at just 27 weeks and 4 days due to dangerous complications from pre-eclampsia in her mother. Little Kate weighed in at 1 pound, 14.5 ounces, and was 13 inches long.

Kate is a true fighter, a VIKING, and is taking on the world with tremendous strength. She is impressing all of her doctors and nurses with her continued progress each day. She was breathing on her own just ten hours after birth, and so far has absolutely no health problems other than what is expected of a baby born at 27 weeks.

We have truly seen the miraculous power of prayer and God's tremendous mercy throughout this journey. We are grateful for your support and encouragement, and for the opportunity to shine Jesus's light through this time in our lives. Please continue to lift up our family in prayer.

We have created this page to help you navigate information and updates about Kate that we post on this blog.
